It was full of bugs, slower, took more screen real estate, had a very long boot time, took an insane amount of disk space, even had to wait for effin shutdown. I could not see the improvement in that. The frequent BSODs proved it was horrib

What was the fix? You did rerun lilo for every new kernel, right? Make install on the Linux source tree used to copy the built kernel image and run lilo.

What's wrong with the name? It stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program.

Because it sure as heck isn't pracrical. Renewable energy: yes, please. Forcing it and tanking the economy, creating poverty: absolutely not.

There are subtle differences. From the top of my head, differences with osx include the font rendering and the tab order (which is broken for everything except form elements).

I tried a beta and was unimpressed. I tried to talk my dad out of buying it because it sucked... He went to the store and bought it with 4x4M EDO RAM DIMMs. The clerk might've been afraid showing it would put people off.

There's so much repetition in there. E.g.: (adi-json.adb) if not W.After_Key (W.Depth) then -- things else W.After_Key (W.Depth) := False; end if; -- ...more things... W.After_Key (W.Depth) := Fals

True, dev environments are fast. One dev implements a wrapper with roundtrips, another integrates it into a UI and no-one stops to think if it'll have terrible lag in practise. They don't notice so even if there's a ticket it

Having looked into the matter, 4000 people live there. It's entirely possible there are subscribers outside the base, so numbers for that area aren't neccesarily terminated at the base. That said, it's likely. Military IT is

I expected cloudflare turnstile and if that happens to work, flashing gray bars to "compensate" for an absurdly long loading time.

I think this would nerf wireguard similarly to how a "null" encryption effectively nerfed IPSec. Fine for a specific use case (debugging comes to mind) but should never be upstreamed imho.

90s design had frames, tiled backgrounds, low contrast and lots of different font colors. The "nice" sites didn't style much at all, which usually meant the default serif font was used.

The matrix of sources for a large picture can be mind boggling huge. We have jpeg, webp, avif and jpegxl. Portrait orientation and landscape. 3 or 4 different pixel ratios and of course, different screen resolutions. Dark mode support doubl

There's so much room for interpretation in there. I share my laptop with the kids, so not personal. My other computer is a tower / htpc / 19" / any other form factor than a desktop. It can only connect to a WLAN (wh
