The optimist in me wants to believe these quandaries will force us to reevaluate the assumptions behind our copyright system.

Why? TOTP is the one form of 2FA I would want to be the only option, were I limited to one.

If you mean on a legal level, it's less about what is gained by allowing insults than it is what is lost by disallowing them. That is, it becomes trivial to ban criticism by labeling it an insult. On a social level, there is something

Can't you both criticize Twitter and use open platforms? They aren't mutually exclusive.

There's a pretty simple reason: it's irrelevant to the subject of the article.

I'm not convinced the problem will remain solved for music, and video certainly isn't solved. Gone are the days when everything was on Netflix; now it's fragmented, split amongst the big players in the space. I can see Spot

It's not a failure of the system; students are, increasingly often, mistaking universities for diploma mills. Some universities gradually acquiesce, others hold their ground. The universities that maintain their standards for graduati

If Amazon had a mobile OS, it would probably be proprietary. Android has its faults, but at least an open Android stack is possible. I can't say I'd like to see Android lose ground to whatever Amazon would cook up.

On the contrary, it's disingenuous to act like resolution or color are metrics of "performance" when the colloquial usage of the word generally refers to processing speed and memory capacity. I/O speed would qualify, but

How is this a shift in our society? When in recent history has this not been the standard?

No need to start a flame war. Also, considering the pie chart is Apple-only rather than having anything to do with market share, I don't get what Android has to do with anything.

I remember using StumbleUpon in my teens, and one site in particular sticks out to me. It was a full-page Flash point-and-click game where you directed a few children across a few different landscapes (IIRC at least a desert and jungle). It

Nextcloud could be better in some areas, but I don't see how it's bad . I'm very happy with it for personal cloud storage I can trust.

In both the OP and your comment I initially interpreted "CO2 monitor" as a computer display that emits CO2. I was wondering how this would boost your productivity for a confusing 10 seconds.

I'm interested what the response will be to this. I personally don't use GAPPS on my phone, so the optimist in me hopes this leads to more community effort on FOSS replacements for GAPPS. Realistically, everyone will probably jus
