They don't care. You as a user (for Google) ain't a customer, you're the product. This is most starkly clear in their customer service. Most of their free products don't even have one and refer to the Google forums. Mean

Something that's a bit more understated like a Maserati but driving like an average sedan would be mostly fine though.

Still kind of disheartening that I get 10-14h battery life on my 13" 2015 Retina under macOS, but it drops to 4-5h on untweaked Ubuntu. I can push that to about 7-8h with the help of Powertop and TLP. That's still a vast, vast cha

Shame that the battle for the desktop is actually (mostly) being fought on the laptop - and Linux sucks there. The default settings are usually extremely poor for powersaving. Why doesn't powertop+TLP get installed, configured and acti

I meant it more in sense that when the human race (or rather 'civilization') starts to collapse that its easy to start propping up birth rates by making having children more and more attractive (financially-wise anyway) until you

> give flat tax cut for people who have children > problem solved. Keeping it a flat rate also incentivizes wealthier (and thus on average higher educated) people to have more children.

It has kept Microsoft from sharing its EU data with American agencies so far.. and considering Microsoft has been under the microscope (haha) since it's EU antitrust suit I don't think they could pass the data without some serious

What is it that you have in the Atom ecosystem that's (or a substitute) not installable through Sublime's package control? > The new X1 Carbon with the OLED panel is pretty good, I think. Color accuracy is something of an issue

Have you ever used Sublime though? You can modify the user interface any way you want. Theming works extremely well. There's an integrated package manager too, that works superb. Sublime and Atom are pretty much the same feature-wise (

The gig of RAM is not the only thing. It works worse on large files. It's not nearly as fluid. Multiselect sometimes craps out. Searches take longer. Battery life is less. I ideologically like the idea of OSS, but I'm past sacrifi

Check out Elementary OS and their Pantheon DE for consistency. One of the few distros that actually has (sane) designers onboard and adheres to the outline set by those designers.

You are correct, mostly. UberPOP (which directly competed with taxi's) has been outlawed. The more expensive UberX has not. There's also UberBLACK, but that's more for business people. What's really sorely needed is Uber

It's a symptom of a larger problem though- inefficiency. It's why everything is nearly instantaneous in Sublime but always has that tiny delay in Atom - plus it chokes on large files. Hell, the Sublime dude even wrote a custom Reg

Ideally I'd like to use OSS for everything I can (and sometimes you can, see Transmission), but at times the non-OSS variant is simply the lesser of two evils. I'd rather use native Atom + native Gitkraken, but alas, that'd c

1b) Electron is horrible bloat. Sublime uses 70 (idle) to 250 (lots of tabs) mb. VS Code and Atom both use 200-300Mb even when idling.

Same in the Netherlands. You can expect to pay ~€5 per KM on short drives, the drivers are all foreigners who purely taxi because they get a huge tax cut on the Mercedes they buy and they are always extremely rude. And if they notice you&#x

So far Apple has never produced any audio listening equipment that I (or any other discerning listener) would rate above 'mediocre' in the sound quality department, which is arguably the most important part.

2015 was the absolute pinnacle for Apple devices. The 6S is amazing. Semi water-resistant, headphone jack, fast NVME storage, fast processor, 3D touch, good movement coprocessor.. Likewise the 13" (not sure about the 15") Pro is a
