Europeans are old. This is often forgotten. Old people are slow to adapt. So Europe is old and old-fashioned. This is not great for prosperity. Same with Japan.

I once did an `apt autoremove` on a custom install of CentOS handed to my team. Apt uninstalled python (and a lot more), and apt depends on python to run, so that was a bummer. The easiest way out was to reinstall the OS.

SpaceX is neither the first nor the last entity to build reusable rockets. It's the most successful one, by far, but now that's it's shown to be commercially doable every launch provider on the planet has a roadmap to (partia

I wouldn't believe anything the Daily Mail writes, even if it agrees with your priors. It's just such an awful newspaper that it makes me consider if the deal was legit.

You're right, but for the wrong reasons. Aesthetics has always trumped economics when it comes to housing, and the speculators know this. The probability that this will change anytime soon is essentially zero. You're better off mo

Germany also has its own controversy about corona software. The government wants to standardize on SORMAS, but many local governments don't want to switch. I expected a dump, but to be honest, SORMAS looks pretty good. It's alread

Reminder that cloud providers like Scaleway and Hetzner are 4-6x cheaper than AWS, although not as feature-rich. And bandwidth is typically included to a certain extent, or free.

I hear ASML works like an extremely high-tech consultancy. The tech developed for contract a is not available for contract b, so you can't just call ASML and ask for the same machine they sold to TSMC. That's what I've heard,

The actor model is brilliant, but I fear it will never get the adoption it deserves because it's too much of a break from convention. I guess it's maybe a bit too much of a leap? It replaces both Kubernetes and messaging queues, s
