I don't know, man. Have you ever had the need to template a yaml file so that a piece of text is inserted from another yaml file? Indentation becomes quite important, and you remember that experience. Indentation math is not my idea of

Depends. It all comes down to the ratio between switching benefit and switching cost, with the added requirement that Pijul must fix a significant pain point people have with git that is visible to decision makers. Possible pain point candi

I think Elixir/OTP already has mechanisms for multi-host monitoring and automatic restart of Elixir actors using a supervision tree.

JSON seems to have better parsers than XML, and XML is more verbose. XML has comments though. That said, I think they're more or less equivalent. I hate YAML, though. Awful awful language. Surprisingly complex, and whitespace sensitivi

Honestly that's because of hardware suppliers. Don't buy hardware without Linux support and this problem goes away. Windows, through sheer market power and mindshare, has created a situation where most hardware just works on Windo

If you're gonna give good ol' Morrowind a go, may I suggest using the openmw.org engine instead of the original one? They've basically improved everything.

Yeah, good luck defining what an ad is. And adverts will always try to manipulate their audience. It would take 3 seconds for them to start doing that again.

Europeans are a lot worse at capitalism, in general, than Americans. Partly because we're not required to be. Western Europeans are more or less born into a massive insurance scheme that will bail you out whenever the going gets tough.

If the company doesn't do business in the EU (i.e. has no EU customers), there are still some things that can be done. Maybe target suppliers to Clearview? The cloud providers are obvious targets. Put out arrest orders for Clearview em

These articles are getting tiresome. Anything thinking must have feelings to motivate their thoughts, otherwise the brain is useless. The basic assumption should be that anything with a brain has feelings.

Most TTRPG groups ignore rules. The DM almost always fudges things behind the scenes and rule-of-cools stuff. The only rules in TTRPGs are what the DM decides. The books are just guidelines.

It only takes one such case to make the tax look bad. But a LVT for corporate owners makes sense. Maybe one for young people too, only excepting retirees.

That's just how common law works. If you want to get rid of the power of precedent, it's not gonna really happen, but civil law would relax it a little bit, at least. Civil law is, in practice, also using precedent, but it's

Trams suck, IMO. The only good thing about them is they often get right of ways, which can also be given to busses. Subways are where it's at. Long trains that don't have to deal with traffic lights.
