And yet you as an individual has no freedom to choose which company's interface you want to use for the government. You get the government-appointed shitty one.

Honestly, this just reflects the age of the population. Change is more painful when you're old, so stasis becomes more attractive. Usually Germans like the general idea of improvement, but they hate change.

Think “JVM, but better this time”. Better isolation, and more language-agnostic. So, Kubernetes with WASM application servers as an alternative to container runtimes. All the old Java ideas, but hopefully much better. It being originally ma

Unfortunately dual-hose ACs are not widely available. I just couldn’t find any when I was in the market. It’s single-hose only in my experience. Why this is I don’t understand. Had to buy one and try it to finally conclude that I was sane a

A thing I love about DE is how different the players interpret it. Personally I think no faction came out looking good in that game, which was probably the point.

The Torment games (both Planescape and Numenera) are good. So is Tyranny. I'd say Torment: Tides of Numenera is maybe the most similar game I know, as it is also an RPG with hardly any combat.

I've realized this about security as well. Unless insurance companies demand higher premiums for choosing Azure, or Azure fails to get certain certifications, then all is well as far as decision-makers are concerned. And this is not ev

I liked the Quest Pro idea of having a solid gap between the screen and your face that you can see through, so you get to have some connection to reality. I bet it helps with motion sickness and cooling, as well as making it less disorienti

Like what happened with Java. Once a language has accumulated enough popularity it’s extremely hard to depose it, due to network effects. The switching costs are enormous.
