Can't help but feel a faceless corporation would have gotten away with it. And also that the result is not a loss for the planet.

It used to be really bad this spring, but now it's somewhat buggy but fundamentally fine. Somewhere around March games would just randomly lose focus, start stuttering, or you couldn't use fullscreen while having a secondary monit

Most illegal things go on Telegram for some reason. I guess Signal doesn't have the required features.

Oh, it was an event with custoners invited? Yeah, that's grounds for dismissal anywhere, I'd think. Even in countries with strong labor laws you could just show the court the video recording of an employee doing willfull sabotage.

Voters don't actually want house prices to come down. Voters, in aggregate, want rents to fall and prices to rise, roughly divided by renters vs owners. Somehow the homeowners almost always win against the renters in this political tug

Preach. HTML and CSS are markup languages for creating documents. Using them for GUI applications is wild and obviously a bad idea.

A good habit, but encryption won't save you in all cases because anything you run has write access to .bashrc. Frankly, our desktop OSes are not fit for purpose anymore. It's nuts that everything I run can instantly own my entire

I don't understand why people look for a conspiracy. The people being replaced are being replaced because they're not having any babies. There's no government policy for that, nor is one needed. Is anything less than being fo

Do you mean republicans? That’s different. I have some sympathy for the whole small government thing. I even kinda vote that way myself. But there’s a certain kind of person who will instantly vote for a “man of the people” who “tells it li

There's a lot of stupid people out there waiting for someone who knows how to speak to them. Sounding like a country bumpkin and being unimpressive to the elites is probably good qualities if you want to be that sort of person.

I generally agree, but if we assume that the amount of history scales proportional to the number of humans, then it's not so clear cut, as there's never been more humans alive than now. In other words, there's just more histo

I wish this was satire. The slide is full of spelling mistakes and all kinds of horrible communication. Even when I know it documents an issue that killed people I still struggle to read it. Only the bottom part hints at anything relevant.

Depends. Some options only vest in the case of an "exit event", i.e. an acquisition or an IPO. At this point I would assume such options are borderline worthless.
