I think you're getting close to ad hominem. It should be sufficient to point out how little overall people like Blow have accomplished. Blow is a hard worker, and yet it took him and his team 8 years to develop The Witness, which as yo

My point about The Witness was that not many people live in a reality where you can spend 8 years developing a piece of software that doesn't really solve any new technical problems for the end user. Obviously a lot of development time

I've been following Casey since his podcast with Jeff Roberts. He had the most influence on me as a programmer. I loved the Handmade Hero series, and I reread his blogs occasionally. That being said the whole network idea, and the feti

I don't think there's profit in regular users in the forseeable future due to energy costs. The revenue will come from replacing you, not from helping you to buy a pair of sneakers.

I went through some of the non-technical chapters. This reads like a Reddit post. It's full of generic opinions without any references or attempts at problem solving. Doesn't look like any of the contributors have released anythin

You don't even need MRT to do deferred shading. You can do a light pre-pass as described here https://diaryofagraphicsprogrammer.blogspot.com/2008/03/ligh... . There's limitations because without MRT you

Art is a matter of taste, financial advice much less so. I can't imagine education in art affecting what you like, unless you only care about what others think of your taste.

If you feel the need to go out of your way to use a racist metaphor that needs to be immediately explained, you may just be "głupi jak but" ( https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/g%C5%82upi_jak_but ).

So is StarCraft. I can't comprehend why the predecessor to their cash cow gets the "looks like it was upscaled with AI by an intern" treatment. The Warcraft II animations are objectively way worse in the remastered version.

It's not about being old fashioned. If you can't maintain focus to read a book, you're obviously not truly engaging with the material. How far are you going to get in a field, if you're reliant on having everything expla

YouTube and podcasts are fine as an introduction to a topic, but they are and do encourage passive consumption. It's fine for reciting shallow factoids in class and getting grades, but won't make you an expert in a field. If you c

One of the first things you learn about farming cows is that meat cows are rectangular, and dairy cows are triangular. Some of the paintings are quite exaggerated though, probably for the purpose of bragging rights by the patron.

Black Locust can produce sprouts out of its root system, but from what I've read a single organism can cover up to 1ha, and the sprouts become independent eventually, so not exactly the same.
