As an aside, I am really, really surprised and happy to see a plain-text website available, if you decline cookies. That's a neat approach.

Don't want to put words into the mouth of totalZero, but that clearly seems like a joke.

Well that would certainly explain why I haven't seen these ads - I pay for G-suite. Nonetheless, I find this to be heinous. Practically the same as Google vouching for spam emails, pushing them directly into your inbox.

Yeah I should probably have clarified. It seems like such a dark pattern. It's astoundingly evil to me.

I had no idea that there are ads in Gmail. This is infuriating. I would be absolutely fuming, but I don't use the web client, so I didn't realize this was a thing. But holy shit! How is that okay?

If you put it in a pull request, that'll just put it in the merge commit instead. I'd prefer it being on the commit itself.

Wow, yeah that's true! I have never thought about it before. From Wikipedia: "In Faroese, the name appears as Føroyar. Oyar represents the plural of oy, older Faroese for "island". Due to sound changes, the modern Faroes

People are often patriotic. You feel a certain connection to someone who comes from your country. But yeah, I agree. One fun example: I am Faroese. On a technicality, Faroe Islands _could_ be considered the highest rank, at 1 laureate for a

You also cannot log in on Google-owned websites, like YouTube, without signing in in the browser itself. I haven't figured out a way to do so, at least. You can use guest tabs, but then you lose all of your customizations (extensions,

It took me a while to understand the whole "no magic numbers" thing. I was basically just told that most (if not all) numbers should be stored in constants. So I just added int twentyFive and stuff, and it annoyed me, but my teach

Same is happening in the Faroe Islands at the moment. We're at the early stages, though. Last summer was absolutely terrible, with tourists not getting informed. Don't get me wrong, I do not blame the tourists at all. The tourism

Similar experience, but with Faroese. You'll be hard-pressed to find people who don't speak Faroese, Danish and English. Fourth language, not so much, but yeah. However, I do think we Faroese are too bad at Faroese grammar. Side-n

Same, New Zealand to Faroe Islands through Italy. Maybe both New Zealand and the Faroes reference Italy?

I think this would make a pretty neat side project. Has someone done this before? A google search gives a bunch of ant simulations, but I don't see any that include bridge building logic.

In my teenage years, I went fishing aboard a long liner. I shared my shift with four intimidating Icelandic men. I usually stood by the line, making sure that any fish that were hooked got inside the boat. During one of my shifts, under he

Lol, scorn, that's a big word. I dislike System76 because they refuse to support European layouts. US only. I am very bitter about it. I dislike most laptop manufacturers of this day, because they all either: * Only make touch-screens

I just mention System76 because they have exactly what I want, but I have no way of being able to use it. I'm kind of bitter about it. But yeah I'm getting sold more and more on the touch screen, honestly. I think gestures and suc

System76, specifically the Galago Pro. I want it because Linux runs well on it, it has 8th gen i7, 16gb ram, and a 4k non touch screen. But only US layouts. European, specifically scandinavian and UK layouts, have 1 additional button, so la

The 4K resolution is a huge bonus as well. Haven't been able to go back since going to 4K. It has the same vertical resolution as a 2K monitor on its side! Can't go back.
