Yeah exactly. Lots of cable TV networks are all-IP, using multicast to distribute the signal. But the previous post is 100% correct in saying that “video over unicast on the internet” is massively inefficient compared to current broadcast

These terms are interchangeable. Although typically one or other is used when speaking about a specific technology. Also see datagram, cell and probably others I’m forgetting right now.

Why? If it was at the start it’d remain useless until the whole frame was received anyway. Makes sense to have it at the end.

Well CPM wasn’t a failure because MS-DOS was better technically. It was more down to other factors like IBM selling it for a much lower price than CPM for the IBM-PC. So to the original comment I think the poster means it’s like MS-DOS, bu

There are a lot of wrappers that you can use to provide a TLS proxy to an existing resolver,a few are listed at the bottom of this page: https://github.com/curl/curl/wiki/DNS-over-HTTPS

That’s really the issue I think, has to be a public server if it’s going to work for mobility. Fixed desktops maybe, but a laptop or phone?

Linux runs the control plane. The programmed routes go into hardware on the bigger systems, and either way there is no Linux kernel routing involved at all.

Ah ok... that is an interesting attack. Is the actual pin on the chip though? I would have assumed only a hash of it was stored, enough that it can verify the right pin has been supplied without having to store the actual code?

The problem with the "let the market decide" is that there is no free market for Internet access in the US! In most areas there is effectively a government imposed monopoly on who can provide you access. So there is no "mark

Not true. Your TCP traffic is encapsulated in a GTP tunnel from the head end to the local tower / aggregation point. The network looks after moving / switching the endpoint of the tunnel as you move from cell to cell. Basically a

What advantages are there to using 5G on unlicensed spectrum vs WiFi. Seems to be there is a whole lot more complexity doing 5G, would 802.1ax with OFDMA sub-channels not be a better way to use that spectrum?

Meh. You can have 1,000 wires in a bit of pipe, effectively 1,000 "spectrums." The air will always only be a single spectrum. Cell division does not scale infinitely, and becomes more and more complex to manage. Running cable you

The ranges could change over time. If you run your own DNS resolver you can use the wildcard trick. Something like this in an RPZ zone should do it: facebook.com IN CNAME . *.facebook.com IN CNAME . facebook.net IN CNAM

I have major doubts about how it will work in reality. The routing of transactions just won't work in a fully peer-to-peer network. Inevitably large "Tier 1" hubs, interconnected together, will surely be needed. Djikstra or
