Speed limits have the ability to make everyone safer. An excellent driver, who is safe at 80, will be safer at 65. mandating automated driving makes excellent drivers less safe. An excellent driver, who has better skills than poor drivers

Which people? The bottom 20th percentile? 50th? Where do you draw the line? Wherever you draw it, there is a group of 10-100 million drivers who will be less safe (to themselves and others) in an automated vehicle. There’s reason to believe

Violations and collisions are not uniformly distributed. A minority of drivers cause the preponderance of collisions. Eventually these misunderstood stats will lead to everyone having their driving privileges revoked, when in reality, only

Goods (and services) are priced at what the customer is willing to pay. In this case, the alternative is cash or cheques, both have much higher loss rates. That’s why vendors are eager to take visa over cash.

Jokes on you. Merchants prefer credit cards because there is less loss than cash. 2.5% is nothing compared to 5-10% loss at the register. Plus easier and more accurate accounting.

Don’t forget arbitrage, which is the withholding of transferred funds for 7 days while the capital remains in visa’s accounts for “investing” / speculation. It’s like if you gave your buddy $100 to give to his room mate, and he decides

A worthy upgrade to a miracle product . Just a couple decades it was a sci-fi fantasy and we all can enjoy it . I get the bible in my ear all night at bed time and books while I work and walk around the property. Great to see the price cut

taking action requires understanding the leading factors that lead to the decline. If you only see one train car , you won't know that the engine needs to be alerted to stop 2 miles down the track.

I’ll assume the complaint is that the desktop is his space and shouldn’t be real estate for ads. Around 2005 it became obvious that consumer software licensing for operating systems was no longer profitable. Nothing like Windows 95 sold ag

I agree with part of your complaint, and many cloud services are deliberate vendor lock in (e.g. “serverless”). But all the cloud vendors offer containers as a service, where you build your image locally and run it in a region. Naturally t

You’re right, and many American franchises still do, but they’ve understaffed the place so heavily that it’s often onerous to find someone to come to the counter. Plus, most (but not all) staff have lost social skills.
