Java only just got green threads (goroutines), 11 years after Go 1.0 was introduced. CSP had been around for yonks. Nothing is perfect to begin with, and I think you could probably be a bit kinder to Golang here.

To be fair this is the same as most regulatory bodies. You have specific things you must do for SOC2. There can also be known issues that you must document and, as long as they fall within acceptable risk tolerances and you have a plan

RE. initial flows and diagnostics, I totally feel your pain. Part of the trouble with these systems is that they're too different from our average SDLC we have every day: - Write regular code - Test locally - Then deploy This is one o

Yeah. I don’t really love that companies exploited something hashicorp gave away for free, then play good when they finally have to commit to the ecosystem when hashicorp takes it away. Where was this support when they built a business on t

With 60m cats and a mid range 15b animals killed, that’s 250 deaths per cat a year, less than one a day. According to the study. Idk where you’re getting your numbers from dude but it’s not TFA. You’re blowing things out of proportion by s

You said it yourself - domestic vs unowned. People aren’t counting unowned cats en masse, and domestication is the root cause of those feral cats. Also, their range is lower bound 3* your numbers, so there’s no need to cherry pick the hig

Hah, I get it. We actually have an alpha Go SDK out, and an Elixir SDK in progress. The cool thing is you can switch languages and clouds, deploy a new endpoint, and function state carries over for zero downtime migrations. https:/&

Hi Kurt! We do the same metrics type thing at Inngest, and we share the exact same thoughts as you. We 'solved' it by, well, using Inngest to charge for Inngest. We track everything as metrics, then hook up functions to read fro

How can they compare with something that hasn’t been released? It might be true, but at the same time it feels disingenuous to compare unreleased games on switch to a pirated PC. “Much more enjoyable” can’t be a thing until you compare, rig

From an SRE, one of their DB clusters failed. They use Vitess which is great, but it can be prone to hotspots and doesn't auto-shard. Heavy usage (esp. from large customers, rogue jobs) can take down the cluster. When it goes down,

If I understand correctly, this is a receiver — which means you can take your existing DD instrumentation in their format and have it translated to OTel using this code. It lowers the switching cost to get off of DD.
