You are mistaken. This is exactly continuation passing style. The two arguments `if-found` and `if-not-found` are continuations of `lookup`. Note that their invocations are in tail position within lookup.

Isn't it amazing? ASN.1 seems like such a low bar to pass, and yet.

Yep! Absolutely. Just like Unix VMs (and containers, etc.): recursive whole-system composition makes perfect sense. Smalltalk hasn't been taken in that direction yet by anyone, though, as far as I know.

Running the analogous ln -sf /dev/zero /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 will have an analogous effect on an "alive" Unix image. I mean, a Unix machine. :-) Incidentally, in the latest Squeak,

It looks nice! But it's still missing a semantics. When are two values equal? When are they distinct? JSON and most other formats also have no real semantics. XML is a notable exception, with XML infoset defining a semantics for the sy

Smalltalk is surprisingly OK to develop on the phone. I've written a little on-screen keyboard in Smalltalk (subject of my next blogpost; [1,2]), and it's just a naive qwerty layout, but it works OK for the short methods common to
