Because GET requests can be saved as bookmarks, copied and pasted, indexed by search engines, etc.

Lots of people rushing to build RSS clients, but why not build something better? If you can build something that will take any URL, figure out which bits are changing regularly (the news items, etc), and push the changes to a Reader style i

If it's on the homepage and in the docs, people will copy it without questioning it. That's why people use frameworks.

Grow up. I'm not bitching and moaning, nor am I anti-MS. I told you I worked with MS languages. I just think this is a crap way of doing Django. Just like developing Silverlight apps in VIM would be.

Would be cool if the gradients and 'shiny' stuff was in a separate file so it could easily be removed for those who want a flatter look. In 2 it's scattered around the codebase.

It looks like a Pinterest clone to me. What's different, apart from board/post limit and the suggestion of what to put on your board?

When they say "Not supported" what do they mean? If it gets the mobile style then that's not so bad. If it all goes a bit Picasso then that's a problem.

Yes, I spent a year using VS full-time for .NET development, and I think it's a ridiculously contrived way of developing Django applications. Hence the promotional 'articles' like this from Microsoft.

I knew this was going to get downvotes, but come on, doesn't this seem to anyone else just a little bit desperate on Microsoft's part? They're giving out bad advice to sell bad tools. I'm a little disheartened it's got so much attention on

The recommendation is for an opt-in filter that is easy to use for non tech-savvy parents. The government aren't trying to enforce a filter, despite sensationalist journalism like this.

In this context, the word authoritarian refers to government. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Authoritarianism .

This is not about the government imposing anything. It's about the government providing tools for parents. From the actual report: "The Panel believes that ISPs working together will deliver a more effective Opt-In system on a self-regulate

I guess we disagree then. I believe protecting children is partly the responsibility of the government, and the level of protection a child receives, shouldn't be dependent upon the technical proficiency of their parents.

By using the term 'cloud' I think they're pitching it against traditional sat-nav style apps that require a large up-front map-pack download.
