If I recall correctly the Dev team didn’t notice this as they were using a test JSON which was not very complicated. Only when the game was in production did the complex JSON cause the long loading times

I’m surprised why Opera doesn’t come up more often in HN discussions. Sure it is not open source like Firefox but it is pretty performant and a competitor to Chrome which we all agree is a good thing.

While I don’t know the future for sure, if I see even some users are getting benefit from my work, I will be disciplined enough to spend at least 4-5 hours a week to support my creation. In fact I am not opposed to the idea of starting to s

This applies to basically any other activity, from drug dealing to covert arms trading to assassinations. Malware is probably the least shocking imo

That doesn’t mean with present day’s internet content and the terms you search for in present day would have returned better results using google from 2006

That is unequivocally false. Amplifiers (inside the DAC) are not ideal voltage sources at all loads and frequencies. Depending on the capacitive loads the amplifier might need to adjust compensation to make sure it remains stable in all sit

Having worked on Audio Codecs and even though my livelihood depends on it, I would like to say 3.5mm jacks suck! You need to figure out how much resistive and how much capacitive load any headphone has. You need to detect if it has mic, if

We should not just switch to EV and keep everything same. The power generation needs to switch over to more renewables or probably nuclear at the same time if we want to reach zero carbon soon. However if we don’t switch to EVs then there i

Pure EVs provide more miles per kg of carbon emitted over their life even if you consider 100% coal power generation and most fuel efficient ICE vehicles. I’m not sure what tire pollution you are talking about, but to me it seems like it wo

Their points are not insurmountable and apply even more strongly to HFC. However, Toyota is still lobbying and advertising heavily on HFC, so it is hard not to question the good faith behind their arguments

HFC is unlikely to win over because of how inefficient it is if you consider carbon free sources of hydrogen. If you don’t consider carbon free sources then why not just stay with gasoline? Hybrids have not been “jumped over”. You’ll find p

This looks exactly like a comment I saw around 2008. In all seriousness, I don’t think it makes sense to waste resources on planning for autonomous vehicles as it is not guaranteed (probably not even likely) to have them in the near future

Don’t know about GP’s details, but IMO trading brings quite a lot of value to society especially compared to at least some non-sense tick the box software jobs. Trending brings liquidity and makes resources available to where it is needed.
