I think the current best option for privacy-conscious users working with Windows 10 is to install Windows 10 LTSB version[1]. It doesn't contain Cortana, Store, all those fancy widgets, universal apps, IE Edge, and forced updates. [1]

There really wasn't an ad for the job. They mentioned on their website that they always welcome applications from motivated programmers. But as I said the subsequent email exchange with them went nowhere. In the end I went to work for

I would say hard but not impossible. Privoxy can strip any part of html content at will with its filter files[1]. It works just like AdBlock Plus rules, but on network level. [1] http://www.privoxy.org/user-manual/filt

There are also websites that show you a completely blank page if you have cookies disabled! That's amazingly terrible.
