It's hard to static type with DRF, even with drf-stubs package. Good luck with static typing your managers, it's impossible due to circular imports. It's easier if you add services layer but not many people like it. There

Didn't you confuse 'at least' with 'at most'?

I'd advise to give mypy yet another try but disable in config file error codes that are painful and # noqa or # type: ignore lines that can't be understood well by mypy.

Same! I literally closed an account and created a new one after a few months because I was charged a few bucks a month and I didn't know what I was paying for. I think it was either related to db backup or some encryption keys but I co

Although I don't think ripoff is a good word for describing their relation, I definitely think Starlette deserves more attention. As I prefer CBV I tend to lean towards Starlette.

Dataclass child can't inherit from a parent that has a default value set. How is this not a dealbreaker for most? That's literally the only reason I keep using pydantic instead of dataclasses.

I was thinking about starting Django + Hotwire project myself but I'd like to see some examples first. Is your side project open sourced?

That's exactly what I do in python with celery. I order all dicts/lists and hash this final object. If hash is not found in the db, I set hash as the task id. With `track started` setting I never run the same task twice.

Can't wait for the "they took our jobs" (south park) movement from SWE in US. I think governments will try to prevent that with some sort of taxation.

Looks cool but it took 6.5 sec on my pc to load the entire website and even more on mobile. And I have a pretty decent connection. Maybe that's where you lose some audience?

"... are ashamed of what Imgur has become?" I'm no expert but I think one could say you might get into trouble for defamation if you write something like that on your product page.

+1 for PopOS. I used to run Manjaro for ~3 years but then I managed to break it. After that I switched to PopOS. Couldnt be happier after over 4 years of using it.

That's nothing. Armin Ronacher was complaining somewhere about the performance hit from static typing in python and i never though about that before. It'd be best if all of that was removed in prod build along with unused imports,
