It's quite smart what Transferwise are doing. When a transfer is made from country A to country B, the money gets first transferred from the sender in country A to local Transferwise account in country A (avoiding fees and conversions)

Here in Czechia, you as a descendant can opt out and decide not to inherit anything. In that case, you will not inherit the debt, but you'll also lose the right to any other inheritance you might otherwise get.

Switching to other vendors might not help, in my experience all products and platforms have their issues, unfortunately. Most of the stuff out there has bugs and missing features, deal with it.
