> If you have a large library, surely it's better to properly break it up into separate files?! Sqlite solves this dilemma by providing both: regular source code repository with separate files for development and an "amalgamati

Looks nice and kudos for sticking with Objective-C. Still a nice language which compiles quickly (well, any language compiles quickly compared to Swift). The visuals and attention to detail reminded me of Bvckup ( https://bvckup2.

Spotting it in various videos of scientific, game development & graphics tools is a bit like hearing the Wilhelm scream in movies.

Annoyed with iTunes and Apple Music, I made two mp3 players. One for iOS, one for macOS, both are free and quite minimal but work fine for me and a few fans. https://www.catnapgames.com/tiny-player/ https://

Good luck capturing a sprint finish with that kind of camera.

I'm guessing faster Street view updates could be next. Park the car, release bunch of drones (permission from the town is no problem, it's good for local businesses), have all nearby streets scanned in a few minutes. Eventually ha

Using the "race" column? Why is there such a column, anyway? How is that helpful when dealing with prisoners or people in general?

You can pause your main loop when there is no input or animations that would require a redraw. That saves a lot of CPU when the app is idle. You need to run on mouse moves if you want hover effects though.

Try any larger Swift project and suddenly C++ looks pretty fast. Agreed on the pointers though.

They are hiring for people with WASM/Emscripten experience so I'd say there's something planned, even if only a more sophisticated viewer...

Yeah and a great motivator for the business to do everything in their power to make the Swift compiler faster. Oh wait…

The real fun starts when online players start shooting at each other. How to decide if a hit was fair AND make it look believable for both parties to minimize outrage?

Headers? Awkward string manipulation? Very thin standard library? Fragmented build systems? I would describe dealing with those issues as "boilerplate" because it's just a lot of code you should not have to write. Swift is so

Wait, it went from 1.3M LOC to 6.5K? Was the UI layer really that bloated or are you counting the 3rd party dependencies? I envy you the 3 months without adding any "customer value" (not joking, I'd love that).

I did notice those but still don't think it's good enough. 1st photo is a blurry figure with obscured face. Wow. 2nd photo found only after his death, so way too late and clearly wasn't grounds for the harrasment. Nevermind.

I think he was cheating. But in itself, running without an observer is not cheating when it comes to finish time. It may be a violation of the race rules, but that's it. Suspicious? Yes. Ridiculous? Yes. Direct evidence of cheating bef

You're accusing me of not reading the article. Where does it mention hard evidence of cheating before his death? Suspicious splits are not evidence. Not running with an observer is just that. I get that people get mad at cheaters but w

Looks like they only came up with solid evidence after he died. Harrasment based on mere suspicion was unfair. Poor guy had a character flaw. Did they ever run along to actually verify? Nah, too lazy, just blame him and see what happens.
