I'd be interested to see how oDesk customer service responds to this

Obviously this thread needs a link to this article for anyone that missed it a few months back :) https://www.vox.com/2015/1/15/7551873/jaywalking-history

As an Englishman I find the idea of jaywalking quaint

Used to use it, but the last redesign just made it unusable imo. I switched to Yelp when that came out after previously being a Foursquare user for 5+ years...

looks similar, except they provide TURN servers.

Yep, absolutely right. Although I appreciate Twilio's approach all of this was easy before and the libraries exist in many variations... If you're doing WebRTC though Twilio's TURN service is very cheap and worth looking at

The limit is more like 3 or 4 max. Anything about that and a modern machine starts choking on the video encoding anyway :)

This falls short for the BBC, reads more like a promo... The article states that the bulbs will be 10% more energy efficient but not what it's comparing them against? Incandescent, fluorescent, latest gen LED?

Looks like it's likely based on node-webkit / nwjs / atom - dead give away is rounded bottom corners and sharp top corners, a long standing issue for that project.

I don't believe it is, history has this repeated this playbook over and over, from horse power, steam power, electric power - labour intensive repetitive works have been slowly replaced by automation for hundreds of years now - driving

Driving won't be the first job to be displaced by technology, other jobs will appear - possibly one's we can't even imagine now.

This is quite different to Meteor, allows you to package node and webkit together to create a native-looking desktop application written in Javascript.

As someone that has spent the last 18months building on WebRTC I can agree with all of Microsofts points - particularly offer/answer state machine which is hugely problematic.

They have started iframing sites on mobile, so lets to measure there and easily enough data to not need to do it at all on desktop?
