As I posted on the other thread about this news, the interpretation that this gives the government "new hacking powers" is just flat-out wrong, and shame on the EFF for using it to spread FUD. The ONLY thing changed by this propos

See my post in this thread that quotes the rule change. This is entirely about venue for search warrants. A valid warrant is still required, ALL this rule change does is expand which jurisdictions the government can apply for the warrant

I would encourage anyone interested to actually read the proposed rule change. "(b) Venue for a Warrant Application. At the request of a federal law enforcement officer or an attorney for the government: (6) a magistrate judge with aut

Looks like the author of the modules wrote a shell script to generate a package.json file and publish empty modules to npm to grab up all the unpublished names. However, when they ran it, they ran it in the same folder with their shell scr

Sorry if there was a misunderstanding, I've seen a lot of people who seem to think that Electron is the "text editor" and that Atom and VS Code are just different "shells" built on top of it with Github and Microsof

Electron isn't an editing component, it's the combination of Node and Chromium that sits under VS Code and Atom and a whole bunch of other apps, many of which have nothing to do with text editing.

People on social media reacted stupidly, but then he tried to engage the horde and prove that they were wrong to be offended by retweeting dozens (hundreds?) of people who backed him up. That was a strategy that could not result in anythin

It's just a matter of what you're used to. I'm a recent Mac convert and I can't stand the old clicky trackpads, but I love the haptic click on my MBP's trackpad.

To add on to this, by submitting the bug report, Tavis did not somehow magically become responsible for educating Trend Micro programmers about security.

f.lux needs to be able to control the screen at a very low level while other applications are running, which isn't possible using just the public iOS API. The sideloaded version of f.lux used some internal APIs to do that, which would

I think you've severely misread my comment. I'm absolute NOT proposing any kind of "abstinence only education" regarding sexting. I support what you said about teaching the risks and safer alternatives. If that's

The article talks about "safe sexting" education as a solution, but I'd like to suggest that such a thing does not and perhaps will never exist. It's great that you trust the person you're sending the pictures to no

If you want to fix this and regain some of the respect that you've lost in the past few hours, here's my suggestion. Keep the subscription model. Set the non-discounted prices for a year's subscription at the same price leve
