That argument is pretty close to what people used to say about photography. In reality its more about the candler maker seeing gaslighting down the road. You are not going to compete.

I use writing to think - I also happen to be really good at typing so fast my hands don't coordinate. And I am a terrible speller. If I wanted to publish my writing, people would focus on that, and not the content of the writing. If I

Okay, make it two useful things then. Be a top 25% marketeer and a top 25% programmer and you are worth so much more than either separately.

It will certainly help - but its an extremely high bar. Almost all formal verification of software today is "does this pass the typechecker"?. Now this captures some errors, but it doesn't really capture high level ones (is t

But accessiblity on the frontend is to a large extend patterns - if it looks like a checkbox it should have the appropriate ARIA tag, and patterns are easy for an LLM.

Not only can we not just do that (you did not even define what you mean), but China is coming out with models that are good enough for this purpose - and they are, because they are open, everywhere.

Thank you, this was very interesting. I knew about XHTML in EPUB, but not that it was extendible - I had assumed it was mostly frozen. Others have requested a list of features supported in different E-readers. i second this request.

It’s a point to point vpn that works between devices even without a direct network connection. Their personal free plan is more than enough.

I am apparently dumb. What benefit does this give you, other than a segregated network? Do us hotels typically have exposed Ethernet ports?

I am going to disagree with patio11 here. If someone asks you to pay with gift cards, its a scam. Gift cards are the equivalent of buying dollars at 105 cents, but its not a scam, since everybody is upfront about the transaction.

That is not enough. We need to make every EU law contiguent on subsequently being adopted by the people - and at a significant majority (say 75% of eligible voters). Yes that means fewer new laws, which is not a bad thing when the EU people

Years ago I was part of a cross-disciplinary group doing game development. After our standup in the morning, the graphics artists would have made tons of drawings on the paper table cloth. If they had access to a pen and paper, they would b

For me AI is really powerful autocomplete. Like you said, I wrote the abstraction years ago. Writing the abstraction again now is not required. A time and place may come where the AI are so powerful I’m not needed. That time is not right no

With AoC I think that its fine to pick a language that is not at all suited for the challenge. That can be half the fun. I saw someone one Twitter use Excel.

May I suggest just requiring people to register what how much they want to gamble and then be locked into that. If you want to gamble for 100 usd per month, then you can't bet more than that. You should be able to set your own amount,

No Windows 11 anyway, since it can't run on my massive workstation class laptop... At least I have since migrated to Mac, so I guess it can just stay win10 forever.

I am going to disagree with that. SQL injection attacks are an example of the age old issue of mixing up input and instructions. Smash the stack is older than many software devs, but it was essentially the same problem - its an inherit issu

Its surprisingly fine, as long as you allow the AI to iterate on its work. It will discover that it doesn't compile, and then maybe lookup the API and then it will most often fix it and move on. AI is no more capable of reliably one sh
