Sure, and I think that these things will, eventually, crash. I suspect GameStop will before Bitcoin, but I think both will eventually. The market can stay irrational for a very long time.

I just did online school and didn't bother showing up to any kind of ceremony. I was 30 when I finally finished school, I didn't really feel the need to prove anything.

I find it weird that people idolize businesspeople who basically just engage in ponzinomics. They create businesses that don't make any money, often don't have any plans to ever make money, with the hope that they either get bou

I'm arguing it's not "success". I don't believe that a meme stock is a truly long-term business.

Can't you write off capital losses? I've been able to deduct margin interest from my capital gains.

If this deal does eventually go through, then it might be a good time for someone to start working on a competitor to take over the online auction space.

I'm not sure that the incentives actually are aligned. It seems like the incentives are to think short term and do sketchy shit to pump the stock.

I could see it potentially be something like the Walmart pickup service? Last mile delivery is pretty expensive, so conceivably they could offer faster and/or cheaper shipping if you picked it up at a physical store. I don't know.

Yeah I've never thought that that was the win that people seem to think it is. When you're that high up in the company, you have so much stock that you can pretty easily get loans against for however much you need, and write off

I guess it comes to management. I agree that if GameStop were basically rebranded as eBay brick and mortar stores, that might work. I guess I just feel like if it were GameStop itself that were managing it then it would be unlikely to actu

I really thought it was going to be the other way around. I am quite confident that if GameStop bought eBay, they would ruin it in the same way that K-Mart buying Sears ruined that company. I could be wrong, I'm not a business person,

I have found that for low-stakes stuff, where "good enough" really is ok, Claude and Codex have been pretty great. I don't particularly care if the code is optimal, just enough to do that job. For example, I had Claude genera

Funnily enough, my wife is Mexican and I think I have a higher tolerance for spicy food than she does. She won't even do the Taco Bell Fire Sauce.

I don't generally love super spicy food (the most I do like 95% of the time is the Taco Bell Fire Sauce), but every now and than I want something really spicy. I'm not sure why this is the case, but I'll go to a place with

FizzBee is likely a good place to start, but since I have never really used it I'm afraid I can't recommend good resources for it. ------ If you're just getting started, I recommend checking out my former advisor's book:

I am always confused when BigTechCos buy SmallCos and then unceremoniously kill them off fairly shortly after. I guess it's basically to cannibalize the source code?

I think my parents were good parents. I like them. They were good parents who really wanted to take care of kids, and were active in mine and my sisters' lives. My wife's dad ran away when she was fifteen (and with two considerab

My wife knows me well enough to know that sometimes I'll walk fast to the next exhibit and wait for her; I'm not trying to rush ahead, it is just easier for me to do that than the slow plodding you usually do at museums.

You might feel an obligation , but you don't "owe" them anything. It's pedantic but there's a subtle difference. Doing something for someone because you're grateful for them is fine. I like my parents, I mig

I don't mean to be a douche, but that's an exceedingly ignorant and short-sighted statement. A child doesn't owe their parents anything. If your parent is upset about something about you that you cannot change, then that pa

Just an FYI...Claude is actually really good at building LSP servers [1]. If you want a better Julia LSP, you might just be able to get Claude or Codex to build one for you. I've been impressed with the TLA+ bindings it generated. [
