It sure doesn't feel like it given how closely I have to babysit Claude Code lest I don't recognize the code after Claude Code is done with it when left to its own devices for a minute.

TypeScript is the most popular programming language on the most popular software hosting platform though, owning the best runtime for that seems like it would fit Pareto's rule well enough: https://github.blog/news-insi

I expect all hosted model providers will serve ads (regular, marked advertisements, no need for them to pretend not to, people don't care) once the first provider takes the lid off on the whole thing and it proves to be making money. T

This would be awesome, but great CLIs would have already been valuable prior to the age of LLMs and yet most services didn't ship one. I think it is because services like Jira and others do not want to be too open. Ultimately, despite

Yes, also a heavy user and I'm actually excited about this change. I'm sure the Electron app won't be perfect but I am sure it won't be worse.

I wish when accepting donations, websites would stop caching the total collected amount or give it a super short TTL. I like to see the little progress bar get closer to the goal thanks to my couple of bucks.

From my very limited experience with art, it's more often the case that a work in progress creation is abandoned and then taken a stab at anew later than trashed and restarted. Or it is iterated on to a degree that it is not meaningful

For me the bar for barely good enough is and always has been Codex. Before I found frontier models more trouble than they're worth. And there is still a massive amount of room to grow before I can genuinely say working with these tools

Look into the Playwright MCP server, it allows coding agents to scrutinize the results of their work in the web browser. There is also an MCP server for the Chrome DevTools protocol AFAIK but I haven't tried it.

Tesla showed a prototype of a "snake"/"tentacle" charger that would find its own way to the Tesla's charging port a long time ago. Gotta be 5+ years by now. To my knowledge it has never become a real product or

Facebook's logged out landing page used to say "Free forever". Guess there was a corner of the ToS that said "unless we decide otherwise". :) Edit: OK the wording was "Sign up. It's free (and always will b

I think moreso than the users it is the companies running the LLMs themselves who want the responses to be safe as to not jeopardize their brand.

Phones are the main computing device for young people and hosted LLMs are eating the world right now. Not everyone will find a problem with this, but I am hoping for practical local LLMs sooner than later, and for maximum impact, they shoul

As a very occasional iOS developer, I never enjoyed it. I preferred Carthage and jumped over SPM the moment it became available. I understand SPM didn't or even still doesn't meet the needs of many professional iOS developers, but

I feel like the #1 reason to install Xcode is to get Git working on macOS. Yours is probably #2. I wouldn't bet money on iOS/macOS development sitting at #3.

For my personal projects it has completely replaced the need for CC with Anthropic models for me. At work, I am waiting for native Windows support. I don't like using AI assistants via WSL. Since both CA and CC are Node apps and CC has

There is also Cursor Agent CLI which is a TUI exactly like CC. I switched to it because I don't like GUI AI assistants, but I also couldn't stand CC always being overloaded and having many bugs that were affecting me. I'm not

Agent-specific guidance like this rubs me the wrong way as well. The SoTA coding agents shouldn't need this much babysitting IMO. There are valid things that are not code that should be a part of the repository, like code formatting pr

For me it was the constant overloads. Paying 200 USD a month only to open Claude Code and half the time it would get stuck at the initial prompt. Sometimes with an overload error, sometimes just stuck forever. Maybe they improved it now, bu

There are security advisories, but the feature isn't particularly good. Non-actionable stuff is mixed in with actionable stuff and actionable stuff is IMO presented too generically.
