I claim your time would be better spent figuring out why it makes you unhappy and working out how to not mind it - this is a somewhat common means of abbreviation, and you'll probably encounter it again.

It's a longstanding abbreviation for "accessibility", along the same lines of i18n being an abbreviation for internationalisation. There's the first letter, and the last letter, and between them a count of the number of

I've found most macOS software is actually pretty good at respecting the scrollbar visibility preference, not that we should expect anything less given how often we are told that the Mac is where you go for good UX, and that software d

They are optimizing, probably. Thanks to the internet, knowledge sharing is substantially simplified compared to the 1990s, and it's massively easier to find people to collaborate with. Hard to understate how difficult it was to find u

The no-const people will never be satisfied, so just use const as necessary, propagate as required, and ignore them when they complain. If they take it out, put it back in. They'll always get bored first. I've been doing this for

Portrait displays are worth trying, in my view. I've gone through various iterations of multi-display setups, and I've settled on having 2 x 27" portrait displays at 1440p (or scaled 4K equivalent), one directly in front of m

Hahah, oh dear, and you claim to be early 60s too? And yet here you are still acting like a teenager on the internet. It's fun to be young, but you have to put it behind you at some point.
