I've never heard of Graylog, but Kibana (frontend for LogStash) looks pretty similar. http://www.elasticsearch.org/overview/kibana/ What about CI (builds)? There's a lot of options here, but Jenkins is p

Looks like a notification[1] is shown. I assume "Allow" will whitelist the site. Of course this doesn't help if a trusted site is compromised, but I think C2P is better than nothing. [1] http://www.extremetech.com&

As noted in that Wikipedia page, there is also the MNG format ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple-image_Network_Graphics ). Unfortunately it's over 10 years old and there is still little browser support.

I think for the most part, the people that are unhappy with Gnome 3 aren't looking for something new: they just want Gnome 2.

Graphics smooth on Chrome/Mac/GTX260. Inverted mouse control is really annoying. Have seen some warping.

Turn on click-to play for plugins, whitelist sites you trust: you'll have a brief reprieve before everyone starts using HTML5 audio/video. :-)

MinGW: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw/files/ Console2: http://sourceforge.net/projects/console/ MinGW comes with an installer that gives you GCC. Make sure you install MSYS as well (comes with bash, etc). Add the bin directories

LA Noire's facial animation, while very impressive, was lifted from real people: so we're a bit far off from simulating that (in the sense that we're simulating physics in games). For anyone who played Bad Company 2, I think Battlefield 3's

Some games are better than others. Battlefield 3 has really good character animations for the most part, although you notice it less because it's not an NPC-dialogue heavy game. Deus Ex on the other hand, has some of the worst NPC-dialogue

If they're not being paid to work on it, why would you expect them to prioritize things they're not interested in working on or not going to use?

Should plugins really be necessary? What would a plugin bring to the table that searching "python whatever" doesn't?

I think that the approach that DDG is taking is wrong. Relying upon individual sites search engines isn't going to lead to uniform results because they are always going to vary in quality.

I prefer the Unix command line everywhere. MSYS gives you a Unix shell, and all the Unix tools, built right on top of win32. I haven't used it in years, but I understand Cygwin is quite a bit heavier. The cmd.exe terminal is atrocious. Even

If you can't use it for all sites you want to search, then what's the point? I'm sure python isn't the only site with a bad search.

I'm not sure if this is still the case, but in the past Wikipedia's search engine was terrible and it was actually easier to google "X wikipedia" or "X wiki".

I always wondered this as well. It seems like with the transporter accidents that occasionally happen where someone's pattern is lost, they could even just dematerialize the enemy and then memset(0) the transporter buffer. My theory is that
