How can you differentiate between a camouflaged back door and a mistake? It's clear you would want plausible deniability, so you would make it look like a mistake. And if you have mistake after mistake when do they stop being mistakes?

It's simply too hard to make money. You have very demanding users with infinite resource requirements and finite budgets. There's no margin in it. And there are existing solutions that are satisfactory.

NSE was an awesome development environment when it worked. Unfortunately, it often became corrupted and suffered a lot of down time. Just a touch too much cleverness for the systems at the time.

Any company that cares about ASC 606 isn't reporting taxes on a cash basis anyway. They report on an accrual basis which has little to do with when customers pay.
