I have been wearing Carhartt pants for few years now. I got a pair from my mother. They have been great comfortable and much more functional and durable that just about any other pants I have worn(in the past I have worn holes in pants in

I just want to get my vote in early so I can say I told you so later. This does not sound likely to me. Also, If they try to catch the booster on the next launch (November?) it will make such a mess that they will be delayed for a long long

Thank you. I have been looking a little at your github Busy_Beaver repository. I think I will stick with my on code writing for a little while (amateurish but I am learning a little bit writing it).

OK, you were not fast enough. I asked chatGPT. I think it helped but there is still a lot I do not understand. M(n) = 0^inf <A 1^n 0^inf. Is, in pseudo math/English, some Turing machine in state n is equal to An infinit

Is there a more "popular science" description of what is being said here. I would like to understand what is meant by "Collatz-like". Is it a function like: f(n) = {n/2 : for even n, 3n+1 : for odd n}

I have a post above somewhere above but CO-OPS. I agree that capitalism has worked wonders but it is not the only route to success.

This might be a case where "judging by their works" comes into play. Grouping by semantics is not a good idea.

Power in numbers. I will not say forcing people to public service is a good idea but if every one were to put in 4 hours a day (or even week or month) the efforts could really add up.

Co-ops count as socialist. Much of my family have a history in agriculture where co-ops were prevalent (and mostly, sadly, gone in my community). I live in an area served by the Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) and am happy with the se

Socialism leads to nepotism, favors for friends, and socialism for the most powerful. I am saying we need "Checks and balances". Totally relying on human nature for good outcomes is, in the longer run, a loosing proposition. Sayin

As a member of the community I think we should not be thinking about Socialism and Capitalism quite like we generally do. Instead of Capitalism being a belief system maybe we could approach it more as a natural law. If you make money and ot

It has been a while since I spent much time with NPR but this is a nice (general) article about the presidency. It even strikes a pretty conservative tone. It is not too long take a look.

I do not know what the article is about[1] but I will say that the conservatism of yesteryear (I grew up in the 1980s) was significantly different than it is today (at least widely reported mainstream conservatism). As a kid the prototypica
