To my eyes the stock image is unlikely to be 100% generative AI. It appears to be an Escheresque spiral projection of an AI generated image. The AI artifacts are exactly identical between each layer of the spiral, only scaled down, which wo

The SIGGRAPH talk linked towards the end of the article is absolutely fascinating. The demo at 16:30 shows just how much more vivid the simulated pigments are compared to regular RGB color mixing. https://www.youtube.com/wat

I18N is tricky! Especially when you’re trying to implement languages you don’t know yourself and can’t sanity check your work so easily. Good luck!

Oh, is that why the page doesn’t have any text for me, just images, blank buttons, and an occasional “undefined”? I suspect it’s trying to translate it on the fly and failing? EDIT: Clicking the semitransparent blue rounded square next the

It’s a delightful product with attention to detail you don’t tend to see other places. You don’t get that by buying the parts from AliExpress.

That depends on what you’re trying to do. If you want it to be an obvious example, @example.com is great. If you want it to look like real data, such as in a demo or a screenshot, it’s not so great. It’s a bit like saying that every demo us

Looks nice, the “tree” visualization gives the UI a pretty unique look. Why did you decide to work on this specific idea? I don’t quite see what problem this is meant to solve and for whom, which makes it a little hard to understand the app

In my experience, if your plan is to make a “dashboard”, you’re already on the wrong path. It’s too generic and says nothing about what problems you are there to solve. Think about it yourself: in how many of the products that are important

I’ve used this technique since I was a kid, and have always been fascinated with how my eyes perceive both a 3d image and simultaneously two separate images overlaid. It’s something I think about many times per day - I mean, I’m looking at

Practical and useful, yes! Stunting development is something different. I do know how to read sheet music, but I’ve never practiced it to be fast enough to sight read. I’ve never felt that this has stunted my development - if it had, I pr

It’s not an objective ceiling when we disagree on which way is up ! You have a super-weird and specific idea of what it means to play piano. I really can’t think of a less inspiring goal than playing “advanced” or “technically challenging”

Who is it for, you asked. Do you think there might be a few beginner pianists who see value in being able to play other music than 300-year-old fugues? If an interest in developing musical abilities in a different direction constitutes a “c
