Wow, that is a bizarre example? So bizarre I feel like I must be misunderstanding it. When does someone have multiple job offers in their inbox awaiting a signature? And it’s something you’re searching for as if you have to go through your

”We’ve become so efficient and are so forward-thinking, we just don’t need all these pesky employees” sounds better than ”We overhired and it turns out money isn’t free anymore”.

For blending, linear RGB is a much better choice than HSL. In HSL, a slightly cool gray (230°, 5%, 50%) mixed with an intense warm yellow (40°, 100%, 50%) might create a hot pink (315°, 52.5%, 50%). Not what your eyes expect.

I don’t know enough about Adobe Fonts and don’t trust their own writing about it, but it seems like it supports web. So I suppose it might be a way to get a consistently poor typographic experience on all platforms.

Weren’t the big record labels terrified that streaming would cannibalize CD sales? I think it was a pretty huge thing that Spotify got them onboard at all. I’m not sure how much that matters to your overall point but saying they ”didn’t val

Good question, but keep in mind that it's claiming to `text-wrap: pretty`, not `text-wrap: comprehensible`. That should be enough!

Right about when I’d expect it to get into the interesting technical details, the article pivots to marketing fluff. Hoping for a follow-up that dives in.

What do you mean with a ”simple” gradient? The difficult part is that it has to follow not just the outline of the shape, but also the average color of the shape around a certain point. That must get very tricky with arbitrary shapes.

Except for the ”H”, none of them are particularly similar to Whitney. It would have been more interesting to compare the glyphs to Source Sans. Its ”g” is basically identical to this one. EDIT: I created such a comparison. See neighboring s

All true, except it’s not really a Whitney clone. It’s Source Sans very lightly adjusted to match Whitney’s metrics. It looks and feels exactly like Source Sans to me. It’s a little strange to present it as a prestigious project with a mini

I don’t know. Studios have distinct styles. Think Disney, Pixar, Aardman, Hanna-Barbera. Most of those obviously come from early influential artists (like with Ghibli), but they have become recognizable for the studio itself. It’s not just

There’s a difference between your job being replaced by AI and your employer being disrupted by AI. Stack Overflow might have fewer employees, while the AI companies expand. That’s not a good explanation for a job market bust.
