Maybe I missed something but the article mentions that the rear engine design lives on in smaller jets for reasons similar to why it appeared in the first place.

Yep. I saved that text as I was passing through the article to say something along these lines. To bend over backwards for the article anyway, there may be some merit to the idea that “ Wings on an aircraft with rear-mounted engines can b

Yep. You’ve found one of the true purposes of immigration law. As with barriers to free competition among employers in the market for employees acting to suppress wages to benefit companies, so with nation states in their control of citiz

I admire one who can stick to character like a true fascist in the face of an internet of doubt. May I request a write up on the benefits of a national psychosis?

Does anyone know what the process for interviewing for a highly technical spot at Nvidia looks like? I mean like where you are building specialized scientific computing frameworks for accelerating ML (but also accelerating computations for

Is eternity countable? I really want to know what I am in for, ya know. Plus, depending on the properties of the eternal manifold, maybe I can perform some useful closed timelike computation while there and use that to get rich when/

Is wishful thinking part of divination? Then again they did manage to get, e.g. google and Lockheed Martin(?) To actually purchase some of their wishful thinking hardware. There might have been a deal with minor/slightly demonic imp t

Just for a second (before I read carefully) I thought Disney and Science Applications International Corporation collaborated on a VR project 25 years ago. My brain went “I’d like to turn to butter now but I buy it: misquoting Twain, “only

Yeah, the tone is harsh. He’s trying to deal in mass with a whole pile of cranks wasting his time. Compare with his “how to become a good theoretical physicist”: https://webspace.science.uu.nl/~gadda001/goodtheorist&#

I can relate. I wrote a constraint solver as a pre-processor for my curve and surface generator. Never quite made a “beautiful” hull…. Probably an issue with my objective function and graduation constraints ;)

Mr_overalls has the overview idea covered. I might add that if you start with the Reynolds transport theorem, you can’t go wrong, but that might be the wrong-math-way-around for you. Are there particular aspects you are interested in? E.g.

Yep. Just as bilog says. Navier Stokes. There are additional aspects that may or may not be lumped in somebody’s exposition - such as the transport of heat and coupling of the energy equation in the compressible Navier-Stokes equations.
