Yes. If they want people to call it "Cute"... why not spell it like that? I don't care how it's capitalized - if you stick two letters together in an unpronouncable fashion, people will say it as if it's just those

This is exactly the sort of situation where fast compiles often do help, in my view! Debugging is one case where speed of progress can depend on build time, because you need to run the code after each change to see what effect it had and to

The lower end BMWs are not fancy cars in the UK either. I don't know if they'd class as "cheaper" or "downmarket", but the typical example probably isn't exactly the opposite either. There are a lot of 3-&

Approximate chance a Sam Kriss article isn't the article of the year on Hacker News: 0 (at least when displayed as an integer). But I wonder if this one would win in a fight with the one about Neil deGrasse Tyson... (I like a lot of HN

OK, yes, that's a worthwhile clarification, thanks. I did realise this, at least at first, but it looks like I warmed to my theme too much, and then promptly forgot, only to remember again towards the end ;) Still, I stand by my conclu

That's an interesting article. It didn't gel with my experience of people's motivations for buying cars in the UK, so I had a skim anyway, because what the fuck do I know about America (answer: I went there on holiday once),

I dunno too. How rich do you have to be to sniff at $100K? Perhaps you'd have to know something about the US tax situation that I don't. (I'm in the UK, so what do I know.) Maybe you end up with $10K in your pocket afterwards

You typically don't have to do this with cmake either. The build depends on the CMakeLists.txt file (and the files it depends on itself), which is where the list of source files is stored.

What's probably happening is that most people don't mind, and the current behaviour maps neatly to the way most IDEs behave. And so there probably isn't the will to change it. CMake does have an issue tracker: https:/&#

Yes, don't use globbing to find source files! CMake doesn't record that the file list came from a glob operation, so it doesn't set up the dependency checking to handle it. (Not all targets support this sort of thing anyway.

The C++11 thread library ( http://en.cppreference.com/w/cpp/thread ) is at least not insane, and at best you might even like it. In my view it's certainly a better bet than pthreads, because it runs on Windows
