I think university was the first time I'd been anywhere with numbered rooms that were arranged in a structured fashion, though even that wasn't entirely consistent and many buildings seemed to have mostly named rooms. After the wa

At some point while I was growing up, I found out that American streets were often numbered rather than (as is traditional in the UK) named. Then at some point, a few years later, I discovered that they weren't random, and were actuall

It isn't, the point is just that you need 1 dongle for this now, and you'll need 1 dongle for it with USB-C. This isn't making stuff better, but it isn't making stuff worse. (Well, OK... it is making stuff worse, becau

But you already have to connect a bunch of dongles and wires if you're using it at a desk... Personally I find myself almost always using my laptop in one of 3 ways: - on my lap, in front of the TV, on dining table, etc. - no dongles o

In fact the An255 can carry 250,000kg... (My initial complaint was just with the units mismatch. But, as is often the case, this is just the tip of the iceberg. My rule of thumb remains in force: any time an article mixes up metric/imp

When there's no junction, you don't, and in all cases green for traffic implies green for people - but not vice versa. At a crossroads traffic must be blocked in both directions for it to be safe to cross. A red light for traffic

Fine in this case; not so good for paper.pdf or setup.exe! It's not the end of the world, just a minor annoyance, of a type I'd seen before, that (having 5 free minutes while in the middle of something) I felt moved to comment on.

In April I downloaded VSCode version 1.something, or whatever, and got VSCode-darwin-stable.zip. And now, today, I download VSCode version 1.5, and get... VSCode-darwin-stable.zip. Two files with the same name. Of course, Firefox renames th

This distinction isn't really understood in the UK either, at least not as far as I've ever seen. If your car drives all 4 wheels, it has 4 wheel drive - no, seriously! - and you just have to know what its limitations might be. AW
