What is the alternative ? Building a nuclear power plant ? the same newspaper will come up with a story of how nuclear waste is going to kill babies with cancer. We need to calm.

Yes. H1B = EAD. My wife had h4 and she could not work. I was sponsored a green card and she got her EAD while I am still waiting for my PR.

Invisible hand is something I trust far more than anything else to guide the society. We need lot of teachers and nurses and that is possible only if they are cheap. If the teachers and nurses are expensive we will have few of them making e

I am not sure what that means. Politicians can suppress wages ? When have they done it in past ? Isn't the overwhelming support for illegal immigrants in USA from democratic party similar to what you are talking ? Why is that there is

H1B is a classic case of how legislators are far away from reality. Increasing minimum wage does not help it creates a bigger problem. A lot of smaller companies will happily show $100,000 salary to their employee while paying only $30,000.

USA does not have any visa that would help companies bring in outside talent at cheaper rate. Create that sort of visa first else H1B would always be a mess.

India. A hell lot of Indians (29K last year) come to USA for their Masters degree. These kids borrow loans from Indian banks at 10% to 12% APR do their M.S. and then pay that loan back quickly. Even though MS is significantly less risky you

Yes this. The problem here is with the government instead of ITT in my opinion. If you are lending money to someone who is taking significantly more risk it is your fault if the person fails to pay it back and not of the consumer or the bus

I personally think these are the cases of over-fitting. You can come up with a higher order polynomial that fits the observed noise but it comes at the cost of losing precision for the yet to be observed data. In case of government regulati

The best thing to do here is to accept the fact that some parents will take more risk and some kids will die every year because of that. We cant do a zilch about it besides charging the parents after the incident has happened.

If you ever see a kid alone outside the best course of action is to call cops. 1. If you try talking to kid while the kid is alone you might be charged as a sex offender, attempt to kidnap and what not. 2. If you dont try to help and if so

Bodies like CPS have to justify their existence and increase in budgets. If my job is to go to office everyday and find parents to arrest the best way is to lower the bar for "putting kids in danger". It is okay to send your kids
