Yes, but I mean outputing actual Rust source but with generators or async/await expanded into calls to Futures. Similar to how Go is now bootstrapped from a down-level compiler.

Could rustc have a way to output desugared code or code targeting a specific epoch with new features like generators expand to a backwards compatible form. This might allow for preprocessed source that could be compiled by something like mr

LLVM IR is still very targeted to the architecture it will be run on, it's not intended to be a portable representation.

And of course in Rust, if you Try you might get an Ok Result, or you may just return in Err. It's often a good exercise to craft your program to the language you're targetting, to take advantage of it's strengths or embrace

Any chance of an official unikernel distribution, or single entry-point mechanism for container images. This along with AOT cached classes being baked into a vm/container image would be interesting.

Hey, I'm working on a template language that compiles into Redux + IncrementalDOM. Part of it involves a pipeline syntax similar to underscore or lodash. I'm wondering what you would consider a modern equivalent of those two libra

Is EFS here referring to Qualcom chipset filesystem, and what does that have to do with L2CAP being in the kernel just like IP and other protocols?

Maybe in the future, but right now there is no clear way to manage a collection of random on premise Windows VM's, which is what many enterprises have, with the full Azure toolset.

You can still run Docker Machine (part of the old Toolbox) for VirtualBox support. minikube/minishift can also be used as docker VMs and download up to date iso images automatically.

Would you consider exposing an RPC interface to JavaScript and/or WASM to enable faster vdom operations? Also, after reading that old HN comment, do you think adding something like RenderEvent with values like client size already defin

I've been suggesting that one way into an enterprise environment is to _give the hardware away_. Make a device with enough RAM, Bluetooth for a mouse, USB ports, and one or two HDMI ports. A stick computer might be a good starting poin

Very cool. I wonder if picoprocesses could be extended to support something like coLinux, where the real Linux kernel runs as a timeslice alongside the Windows kernel. Also it would be good to hear more about the progress on OpenSSH and PS

Does it do more than using relative paths in a Cargo.toml would do? I think this thread is about copying and pasting code versus using a small library in the Go case, which might be a philosphical difference with Rust. It might help to poin

Could you make it an attribute of the symbol being exported, part of the contract, and use that to derive an estimated cost of the program? I could see this being used to choose between allocators or schedulers given specific requirements.

To extend your metaphor a little, we can transcribe a pseudo source-code (nuclear DNA), a preprocessor or macro language that we have learned a little about (epigenetic regulation), and there are still two levels of IR after that. The objec
