But -2 seems like just a bad choice here. -1 and -2 are very "common" integers. Seems they could have just picked a quasi-random large integer to reduce the likelihood of collision. I expect hash functions to have collisions, but

I agree that the visual style was not for me. I had a much better time with satisfactory, which is quite pretty. It also spares you the threat of factory destruction.

Completely wild to me that you are backing out the netlist from the geometry gds.

Why would groceries be more expensive? Do you think a $25 fee makes any difference to a delivery truck loaded with $10k of products?

No, not really. There is no speed up for general matrix multiply, and generally it won't be practical for any problem with large amounts of input and output data. Closest thing is HHL algorithm for solving big linear systems, which req

It is perfectly general, but the error rate is too high to operate all qubits simultaneously for more than a few tens of gates without error. This is why error correction is needed but then you need orders of magnitude more physical qubits

One thing I like about bluesky is it allows you to watch embedded videos from external media sources (e.g. youtube) without leaving the app. Seems like twitter/X was clearly opposed to the loss of control this entailed.

I would assume because bash is deployable to more locations with fewer assumptions. Scripting requires environments to be set up correctly to run, and binary makes architecture assumptions.

For e.g NOx with a high half-life, you are probably right that we are still increasing pollution. For short half-life pollutants like SO2 and CO, I would expect this means the actual atmospheric levels are decreasing.

Calling it a demonstration of a "phase" or "order" is fine to me, but IMO calling it "matter" is misleading. "Matter" to me implies some degree of passive existence. This is about as far from passive

These tools are a great improvement, but honestly I find working with this aspect of Julia to be super frustrating. External tools feels like a poor substitute for a type system where this kind of information was obvious from the code.

I'm not sure about this particular fabric, but there are materials which will reduce temperature below ambient (i.e. below air temperature), not just reduce radiative heating from the sun. You do this by exploiting the "cold resou

I must be missing something. A proof that Bool and Bool2 are equal is a bijection f :: Bool -> Bool2. So given any g :: Bool -> Bool we have (f . g . f^-1) :: Bool2 -> Bool2. So it seems trivial.

Why be so dogmatic? You can define an arrow of time going away from some initial ordered state even in a purely classical universe. No QM needed. Although the relationship between entanglement and entropy is worth considering for sure.
