According to CNN, roughly 700,000 people have installed Rednote—though that figure only represents those who have tested the app and doesn’t necessarily reflect sustained usage. By comparison, TikTok is said to have around 110 million users

Why is "The Chinese Communist Part is more dangerous than Meta sharholders" such a hard thing to grasp?

This is very misleading "news" and it doesn't illustrate anything, a bunch of users installed rednote out of protest, but this is a fully chinese app with 100% chinese content and 99% of users will move to youtube, instagram,

My understanding is that the microsoft partnership was more like a late last ditch effort. The market was changing to one where hardware was produced in asia and phones are loaded with ecosystem-centric software from Google or Apple (the re

They actually managed to act on most of the problems identified here but missed the move to software-based ecosystem-centric market started by the app store launched the next year.

If I see another one of these insane "explainations", I'm gonna have a stroke. Nokia - dominating the mobile phone market for years - is evidence that Europeans are just fundamentally incapable of innovation! Ok bro.

The idea that the US only cares about Taiwan because of chips is popular on HN but just dead wrong. Taiwan has been part of the China containment strategy before TSMC was founded.
