Is this the current production version of the code or the MVP I wonder. But looks like a simple, focused and very impressive execution born of his own pain points were.

But the memory usage isn't considering growth. If I grow by doubling the size (seems common) at n+1 element where n is the last allocation, one would allocate n 2 + n (the original until the copy finishes) vs. n (pointer(s) + element

I can definitely see in modern cpu array scanning being faster than pointer chasing but I wouldn't have expected that to survive insertion with 50K move wow! And if you not doing ordered insertion you wouldn't have to move the dat

Was there a point lets say at 130nm when the name of the process was meaningful and if so what component of the gate was at X nm for it to be called a X nm process?

Isn't this really how Capitalism suppose to work. Anything that can be milked for money would be done. Reducing control/choice(freedom) of consumer will always lead to more power for the vendor leading to more potentials for money

Thank God to hear that I'm not the only one. Most people seem to have no problem with it. I wonder if anybody actually likes it more than a flat or depressed headrest.

Does anyone have problem with airline headrest. I have trouble sitting up for one but if I can it works best if I can let my head kinda fall back (however had that might be for my neck) at least a little. Now all the airline seat bulges for

If I'm seeing this right Air NZs skycouch is a much better design and not sure why others wouldn't apply that. Skycouch seem to have an extender that fils the empty space where you normally put your legs wheres this seems like a r

I was looking for interviews/videos with Dennis Ritchie but I couldn't find any one that's over a few minutes. I also wondered if there are sources from any of their (Dennis Ritchie, Ken Thompson and the group) work hopefully

Both these comments really hit the nail on the head. It's a very nice summary of google as a company, worsening everyday in their quality of the product and morality of the decision making process and on top of that the nightmare of dr

I don't why such interface don't work for me. I don't like the JetBrains Mono as much in the interface but in the actual IDE it works nicely for me. I really liked Consolas in the example but it's not free so there'

Two questions. 1. Is the book worth it if you don't use PostgreSQL but Oracle? 2. What about his other books and videos if you are a CS Major but might still want to review the basics.

It says XFS only for data directory in the setup guide. Curious to why that is and how does this work in MAC if that's the case.

I liked the term too. If you are large and powerful, you are the law and whatever you say works. Hopefully as society matures we learn to establish some form of rules/laws that are sane and empower people. But in every society a small

Does anyone have any clue how/why Apple has such different architecture than others and if it's so useful for power/perf. why are others not following the trend. Even if it's not applicable for x64 due to different instr

Unrelated but has anyone often had Chrome going on cpu usage rampage and unresponsive fairly frequency on 'wakeup from sleep'? It's almost certain to happen if the chrome has been updated and waiting to be restarted.

I don't have a problem with them increasing price. We don't know the cost of the changes in this version and even more so users are not entitled that Apple keep the same profit margin even if the cost is the same. The deception th

I think you can use such an architecture without almost zero or minimal code change. You don't have to split the shared endpoints using some remote API calls since they are all available inside your monolith.

I'm not a real expert, but is this design very similar to Oracle database storage engine? I think they also use logs for undo and page level transaction locks and such if I'm not mistaken.

The problem is most libraries/frameworks also has just outputting option and those are valid for a lot of use case (system generated id and such). I guess one option is never allowing any call to that even if you know it's valid.
