I hope that this really actually helps everyone. SPDY has been in Chrome & on Google Maps and such for a long time, but not elsewhere: it's disabled on Firefox, unavailable on Safari and the like. And it's not implemented elsewhere: nod

Does anyone feel like there's something really odd about using Kickstarter to fund proprietary software? Like some of the other Kickstarter projects that fund patented inventions. Like, if you want to launch a proprietary product, _do that_

Almost: unfortunately via the terms, you need to display the geocoding results on a Google Map. > Note: the Geocoding API may only be used in conjunction with a Google map; geocoding results without displaying them on a map is prohibite

Sounds like you're on the current nightly. The bug was introduced this morning by Chrome, and affects a large class of webkit-transform CSS. Like other Chrome bugs, I expect it to soon be replaced by a new bug.

We're hard at work on a native Windows port. The software was released far before node.js had any Windows compatibility, and the priority has always been to make it better in an absolute sense, and then port it when possible.

You can actually do this with TileMill as well, but a common option is GSV - http://mike.teczno.com/giant/pan/ or panojs: http://code.google.com/p/panojs/

Raspberry Pi is the bees knees because it's near-hypeless. They get it, they know that they can make it. There are no silly 3D illustrations of it doing magical things, and they refused pre-orders because they had enough financing to make t

Actually, according to this article, "All programmer’s are self-taught." Unfortunately, some are also self-taught in grammar and punctuation. (I had to. My snark quota is done for the day.)

Nah. Making a nicer, more informative npmjs.org is totally doable and likely an eventuality. Making a package manager that only occasionally triggers the rage of picky programmers is one heck of an accomplishment.

Just to clarify: the sorts of things I'm using an HTTP Get-type library for are atypical and request is fantastic for 95% percentage of uses. And the library I wrote ( https://github.com/developmentseed/node-get ) isn't recommended for us

Unfortunately I've had the opposite experience: trying to use request then finding that I have to build my own. Mainly because it has no good pattern for both streaming and catching errors in a predictable fashion, the streaming isn't true
