The point is Free Software, not distributed systems. It can still be a centrilized service, and be Free Software at the same time.

One thing I noticed when I was in college was that the basics of FP is not hard, in fact it seems way easier (from my data annecdote). In my university CS course, we start with FP (using Haskell), and in a course with one of the biggest num

At the end of day, isn’t Free Software the solution? Every issue with power and control of all these big organizations steem from the fact that their software does not respect the 4 freedoms. The west very much likes “free” trade, but how c

No. Core idea of capitalism is that everything has value, you have a right to own and trade value, and we should quantify that value to enable efficient transactions of valuables. It's about freedom of ownership (and ownership rights)

Go is not less wasteful than java, both are garbage collected and their memory pressure depend highly on the given workload, and the runtime of the program. But java allow more GC tuning and even different GCs for different use cases (ie: s

It's about know what code runs in devices they are _using_. The user doesn't own your server but he is using it through the client. AGPL is meant to apply the 4 freedoms to anything that is _used_.
