Never had anything in 35+ years behind a computer, but most of that were behind a laptop and I always hang on a couch or stand/walk working and do weights daily. Sitting, no matter how much they say it’s an ergonomic chair doesn’t and

Been starting work at 5 am (which is now where I live) for a few years now. I was usually the person who would check in for work around 11 am the past 30 years. That was a bit of a mistake in hindsight; my body and mind like this early ti

I think this would be a good reason for mandatory open sourcing all tech as result of a company failure. That might not make it possible to replace or fix implants still, but at least it gives you a fighting chance.

Exactly; there is a real problem with doctors just accepting ‘old age’ and stop looking for causes.

IHP is a nice product and works really well for my side project; hopefully I can convince my colleagues to use it for our main project too.

Agda is nice and this tutorial is actually pretty great imho. I, for some reason, cannot stand when languages are not self hosting (that's my bug though; i'm not saying it's better or worse in general), so for me Idris 2 won

Many times because I get ideas for side projects, first register a domain and then a year later it has to renew. I probably forgot about the project already. Did that for over 20 years. I sell the ones that I don’t use. And it is simple to

Even cheap commercial phones are far more powerful though. I have a pinephone because I want a linux native phone, but it's not really useable still as a phone; it works ok as a very low powered Linux system though.

With AR you go out, with VR you no longer have to. And yes, I want AR but potential wise... Not sure if their aren't billions of people who would rather just sit inside in nice worlds being entertained for almost free than step outside

Obviously native does better but people are not writing native apps and if we have to put up with that, it seems time to hold those packaged web apps to some basic standards. I rather have a QT app any day, but I do not work alone and picki

Yes, fair enough. Unfortunately that is not accepted a lot anymore; I make custom tools for embedded hardware with win forms and it's great but projects where UI designers get in... nope.

I am not really looking but the amount of companies or recruiters in my inbox is lower than at it was 3 years ago and the good offers are not remote and the interviews are still silly. So I guess more desperate is what we need.
