Yes, exactly. And the grant process, albeit through no cure no pay orgs, is quite good.

The problem with taxes and capital and incorporation is that usually fixing it beforehand is easy while after you start to make money, you are perhaps too late. We went for London because not as litigious, light on paperwork, cheap to incor

Yeah, I was going to say; any construction deaths are frontpage news here. 6500 for a country the size of a shoe is insane, directly related to the the worldcup or not.

London could work depending on your business. Hope you involved an international tax lawyer; there can be a lot of issues with the German taxes in this setup if you did not do this carefully.

But most people don’t want that info; most people want to be entertained, every second of the day. And for that tik tok now wins until the next, even shorter attention span thing pops. Twitter started that by artificially limiting input of

When cloud computing started, our banking clients said ‘never’ to the cloud. Now it is fairly normal depending on the region. In some countries in Asia and the Middle East, it is not allowed yet.

We host all wp ourselves; it’s so simple these days. I have a script which just gets into ssh and runs docker compose and dumps all the passwords. Takes seconds and currently we host around 20 wps which makes the cost per wp 0.05$ per month

Yeah, I had the same Jikes feel when I thought I would try work for a company for once for a bit than start my own; they said ‘we normally conduct 7 interviews over a 3 week period’. So that was it for my experiment working somewhere for no

Indeed; I think people take things too seriously. If you are a software engineer you make enough money and are enough in demand to just try it. Move back if you don't like it.

E-ink works fine in sunlight and are fast enough for my needs but yes, RLCDs seem nice but they seem to have never caught on. I even wanted to get that pixel qi tablet back in the day but nothing ever went anywhere. This [0] one looks far m

I pick my own treatment and medicine already for 20 years; it is not hard. If you have something you are unsure about, ask your gp for a specialist visit (that is what they do as well); otherwise, tell your doctor what to prescribe. Since 1

Maybe a surface 10inch with rlcd or eInk would work well indeed. I do need some type of attachable keyboard though that is also the screen protector. It is fairly annoying as some tablets have to bring all kinds of crap with you to make pro

I had a pocket 1 as daily driver from gpd and it was great but they dropped support and the pocket 2 I really do not like. I have a few others of them but they miss the wow factor of the pocket 1. And no eInk indeed.

I find the Boox display fast enough to work on, it is just cumbersome to having to set it up on a stand and connecting up to it; takes up a table in a bar instead of just a little laptop like you suggest.

For working in sunlight or very bright days; my daily driver in winter is an x220 and it is perfect but in spring, summer, autumn, I simply cannot see anything so I switch to my MacBook m1 which, at full brightness, still is not good alread

I think we are very far off achieving it as well. But I do feel goalposts were moved and continuing that might be a way we will achieve it without noticing; like alien intelligence, we might create something we don’t recognise as general wh
