IIRC, Privacy Badger is less focused on static (or even updated) lists of bad sites, but figures things out based on behavior. Basically it's learning on the go. https://www.eff.org/privacybadger/faq#How-is-Privacy

I do, at least for some personal projects. They're more than capable enough for many tasks, and cheap enough to be willing to just grab another if you have a quick task.

It's not for Safari, but Firefox has container tabs, where this data is isolated per-container. With the Temporary Containers extension, basically everyone gets their own container by default, and all that gets deleted 15 minutes after

I worked in a place where dev workstations were far beyond the end users', and when devs tested (mostly local, not multiple systems across networks), there was no basis in the customers' reality. Endless performance problems were

Is it perhaps time to return to using external tools such as Privoxy, Pi-Hole and the like? Privoxy appears to still be around, and (I think) was originally at the forefront of user-managed web controls. Once the browser reaches its natural

I'm not sure that longevity and resale value are necessarily their strong points any more, since everything (at least in a laptop) is glued together and essentially non-fixable for mortals. My mid-2013 Retina MBP was a very nice system

Mint on my Lenovo P51 has been brilliant. There were basically zero issues to get everything working like sound, sleep/resume and network (common sticky spots). Being a ThinkPad, there were also some utilities to do more specific thing

Arch Linux is based on a rolling update, so my understanding is that you shouldn't have to jump to FreeBSD (nice as it is in some ways) to avoid a release-based upgrade. I've only been using it for a little while on a couple syste

Interesting! I was reading all the comments, wondering if anyone would express the concept that maybe, just maybe, all of this might not be that useful after all. More specifically, how often does all of this really need to be down to the i

A company I worked for had something like this, basically along the lines of, "you can't poach customers or other employees for a year." You likely could still work on your own as a consultant in the same field, but what it a

Hi, and thanks for posting the content provider viewpoint. While you're here, I have a question. I'd consider white-listing, but am not willing to white-list ad networks and trackers since they also get misused as a malware vector
