A bit off topic: recently multi monitor screen sharing based on WebRTC was fixed in Chromium/Linux/x11 (landed in Chrome 83) making my Google Meet/ Jitsi screen sharing support sessions much easier...

It is time to move to Linux or Windows desktop. Really if you are not hostage of Apple ecosystem then decent desktop is much more reliable in my experience (got old MacBook which is ok too but eg can't connect to old vpn on it)

Apple is fighting only for the one thing - the money. If that means they need to sacrifice some people (especially outside US) - they will do it.

Why is .net core not taking the world by storm ? Because most 'real .net devs' still work on .NET 4.x legacy windows apps.

Windows works ok as virtual box/vmware guest as well. I spent few years as .net Dev this way and was more than happy with this solution. You need beefy machine though. Not using windows as primary OS limits risk related to viruses, mal

WSL is waste of time if you work with docker - Linux desktop experience (not laptop) is just good enough these days (and future seems even brighter since Ubuntu goes back to Gnome)

Once I worked for roof window re-seller. They claimed that their competitor Fakro (fakro.com) is as good as Velux but has better quality/price balance.

I just don't care anymore - I keep windows on VM it's way easier (eg. WSL doesn't support docker). I don't use any other Windows app except: VS (from time to time) and Word. VirtualBox is more than enough for this (my ho

" offering little to nothing interesting that would make anyone switch from other solutions" Huh ? Compared to JS - Dart seems like a heaven. Don't known Elm - but looking on syntax it seems it's not so easy to pick up

TS has nice features to avoid js bombs but all JS 'bad code' is legit by definition (JS superset). TS is super nice compared to JS but it is NOT excellent Lang.

Wondering why Dart was not considered. Large apps are written in it (Ad sense UI, Ad Words UI, Google CRM). Has good tooling (IntelliJ plugin, Webstorm). It's fairly easy to pick up - Java/C# like syntax. It's harder to shot

AdWords, AdSense and internal Google CRM are written in Dart - namely AngularDart: https://webdev.dartlang.org/angular according to: http://news.dartlang.org/2017/06/a-stronger-dart-for-everyon..
