Many of them have been upgraded. In the US, we've replaced HOST (the old ATC backend system) with ERAM (the modern replacement) as of 2015. However, you have to remember this is a global problem. You need to maintain 100% backwards com

That's a false dichotomy. You can still travel at 50mph with air conditioning (in a car) either way. In fact, building proper bike lanes doesn't mean you can't have self driving cars too. It just means the people who didn

The real impact of traffic tickets has always been the increased insurance rates, and after enough points you lose your license. The fine is practically meaningless compared to what it does to your insurance rates.

The ice cream was a lie. After I had my tonsils removed, even the thought of solid food was out of the question. It was just too painful. You can have as much ice cream as you want. What they don't tell you is you won't want any.

This isn't a Costco-specific thing. HP printers come in an "e" model, which requires an Instant Ink subscription (but is cheaper - effectively subsidized by the subscription), and a non-"e" model that is unlocked (b

I thought Check 21 (enacted back in 2003) was supposed to eliminate that, allowing digital check images to substitute for physical copies during the clearing process. My understanding was banks (or even sometimes merchants) just scan in the

Cargo bikes are great, but when I think of "hauling things" I think of items much larger than would ever fit there. You're not going to haul lumber or sheet metal in a cargo bike, and that's the easy case.

Bonjour is built on top of DNS. You don't need a layer 2 tunnel to make it work. However, it normally does rely on multicast. Rather than trying to bridge broadcast domains (which is going to cause performance issues), a more efficient
