At least in my car (2013 Chevy Volt), the backup camera is on an internal KVM-type switch. The moment I switch into reverse the camera forcibly takes over the infotainment screen. You can occasionally see the signal flicker when the switch

Keep in mind that not all aircraft are required to transmit an ADS-B signal. Not to say it couldn’t be done, given the right approvals. You’d possibly be asked to publish a NOTAM to tell aircraft to stay away. The FAA has a publication on t

GPS notoriously has poor altitude resolution. For this reason, GPS approaches are technically not considered "precision" approaches. WAAS (GPS plus a correction signal transmitted by separate geostationary satellites) improves the

Not all aircraft broadcast ADS-B positions. And as a low-time pilot who’s been bit with laser beams from people’s Christmas decorations, I’d argue the big sky theory doesn’t apply here.

The biggest difference is digital interconnects can carry extra data for surround sound. (Also, unique for optical connections, it's easier to avoid ground loop hums.)

I think the better question is why SDI video connections aren't available on any consumer devices. While HDMI is nice for consumers because it carries audio/data, SDI cables are cheap (just a single coax cable!) and easy to route

Ethernet Over HDMI is used by newer AV receivers to support eARC (extended audio return channel). The older ARC spec would work with any HDMI cable, but bandwidth limitations only allowed compressed 5.1 surround sound. eARC uses the higher

The whole point of satellite Internet is to fill in connectivity gaps where you can’t otherwise run high-speed fiber or wireless towers. It does not avoid government control. Even ignoring local legalities, at the very least it will be unde

Yes, personally speaking, I’d prefer the native app given the choice. :) I’m not personally arguing for PWAs over native apps! That said, I also know there are some apps that will never be developed as native apps (due to cost issues), and

The liability waiver is printed on the back of the lift ticket, and you accept it by virtue of using the ticket. (I don’t know about the legalities of that as a contract, but it’s how it’s almost always done at ski resorts.)
