Yes, it is quite good for rescuing data etc. because in a lot of cases it is the screen that fails. In your case where the backlight dies it often helps to shine a flashlight on the screen and it will usually become more intelligible. One t

Exactly my point. Changing the instruction set on the CPU won't change the API for the camera etc. Some things will surely change because the hardware backed features work in a different way, but mostly it will be similar enough. Going

The technology is linux, gpios etc. not which instruction set the CPU has. That is completely irrelevant and raspberry switching to USB-C is a much bigger change from a user standpoint than switching to RISC-V would be. Assuming performance

Yeah, no, that is delusional. Sure, you can go the purist route if you want. But it is not either or, few things in life are.

You are supporting the biggest threat to the open platforms we have. And you are actively not supporting the ones that keep it alive. How is that an odd argument? Voting with your wallet suddenly doesn't count because shiny?

Thanks, it is compatible and I've been eyeballing one since my comment :) I'm not a fan of cases, so it hinges on how bulky it is. But it looks like a solid product. My understanding is that Qi2 will be magsafe-compatible, which b

No, the article (and linked youtube) is about the magnets on an iphone (apparently also called magsafe, hence the "that magsafe" part of my comment). This, among other benefits, aligns the phone perfectly and thus alleviates wirel

Yeah, and in what universe could that work? I need directions. Seems far simpler to send a physical mail to the service operator who then hardcodes the IP in the server. Or, maybe do a handshake once and cache it for X amounts of time whate

That is nice. I'd probably just use python to share a directory from termux instead. Problem is that you both need to be on the same network for this to work. Sure, I could quickly start a hotspot and share that with a qr-code and then

Why would you set it up more than once? Copy the config, or better yet, version control it (or any of the other solutions to this problem).
