Older projectors have this resolution, but 1024x768 is more common. Some of the projectors at my university are 800x600 and I've run into them at conferences where the hotel conference facilities are older and haven't kept up.

You can turn off signing checks for kernel extensions. Zinio has released a version of their iOS app for iOS 5 outside the app store. You went to their site on your iOS device and it downloaded and installed the app. I think it was done usi

I've consistently used PDF for my slides simply because it's portable. Most of the places I've presented all have had a dedicated computer connected to the projector along with a second cable for laptops. If for some reason I

I saved my money and bought a copy of Turbo C. Before that, I used both Basic (first on the TI 99/4A then on QBasic) and Pascal (on computers in schools) with some Logo, Icon, and later AutoLisp (for AutoCAD). I really liked Pascal and

I agree that the user controlling which were "acceptable" is a good idea, but that's basically whitelisting. My first thought was to have a crowd-sourced list of acceptable ads, but that's pretty easily gamed. Then, it b

They're not exactly long term, though. In my city, they're turned over every 4 months or possibly 8 months. The biggest university has 4 month terms and their co-op programs alternate 4 months on 4 months off.

I'm in Canada and we've declined people from attaching anything to their balcony's railing. If they want to put a dish on the balcony, it has to be on a stand. My upstairs neighbour has one like this. We've done this rul

While I don't use Kodi, I'll download videos like the ones from WWDC so I can play them back as many times as I want without worrying about the plays counting towards my bandwidth cap. In my case, I've added them to iTunes (a

When I was in grade 7 I moved to a new town and therefore a new school. They actually had a requirement that everybody take both home economics and shop class. It was actually a combined course, for the first half the year you did one and t

One problem I've seen is the reduction in the variety of high school courses. If you don't spend the time doing work in shop, you might not know that you really enjoy it and make the decision to try and get an apprenticeship. It&#

I don't think BTRFS has all the features they want. One thing you can do with APFS is do an upgrade of an HFS+ partition to APFS. That might be difficult with BTRFS. You don't necessarily need snapshots on a watch, but I can see i
