I'm gonna take a stab at assessing the relevance of the mistakes to a self-bootstrapper: 1. Single Founder: Plenty examples of successful bootstrappers on Indiehackers. There are also plenty of failed bootstrappers, but you likely won&

This might sound crazy, but is there such a thing as programmable terrain? I can see this being technically feasible and adding realism to a VR game, but it might be cost prohibitive or a liability when people fall. It'd be cool tho if

I've heard often about how the energy estimate for warp drive has been revised down from the mass of the universe to that of Jupiter. Forgive my ignorance, but is this just a matter of refining the shape of the warp around a spaceship,

I think proquints [0] are pretty good at encoding for humans as well. For example, when used to encode IP addresses, they result in pronouncible identifiers like this: 127.0.0.1 lusab-babad 63.84.220.193 gutih-tugad 63.118.7

My suspicion is with the low hanging fruits gone, investors will soon turn their eyes away from growth-at-all-cost unicorn potentials to profitable companies that target tiny specific niches.

I wonder what if we decide that 'fate sharing' is OK, i.e the client request flow (not the entire process) fails when a network step fails. How long can a system stay operational after it started before the whole thing grinds to a

We speak in hypotheticals of course, but barring any physics defying barriers here, one can imagine a future where those issues you raised have been addressed (e.g improved simulation/ML techniques, less red tape, faster trials, greate

And I'd say that ethical decision should never be moved up the chain. War is ugly, and should be ugly so that we think twice before waging one. You can still keep a level head with non-autonomous systems, e.g drones with human operator

I'll grant you that there weren't much ethical considerations to speak of in the last world wars, and perhaps my naive view has been unrealistically colored by sci-fi TV shows, but my point is simple: a broken autonomous killing s
