A very helpful tactic I've learned recently is to not focus on not having any thoughts but instead - realize they're going to be inevitable, and when they pop up, acknowledge that it's a thought, a feeling or, an emotion -

I store a `login_count` in my User model. When searching for a user I `find_by_user_and_login_count`. The token they have has their current login_count in the claims. If I want to logout server side, I just update this value (Can be a rando

It'd be more realistic as well! As space is a vacuum we don't need to apply aerodynamics to the ships and they can be any which design!

Everyone is an emotional being; whether they show it to the world regularly or not. I'm normally a very stoic, "serious", sometimes up-tight and irritable person. I know I've turned off many people from the way I interac

This is done all the time . Even on the smaller scale with middle/upper-middle class families; they have LLCs or some other legal avenue that owns their car, their suburban home(s), etc. It's not just the rich people who do this

It's a good idea when you're working with small changes. If I'm working on fixing some bug, it should probably be in one-commit and done. But sometimes you're working on a bunch of "testing123" "save where

While I haven't moved into production yet; nothing broke when I migrated my Rails 4.2 application - just had to tweak the few things to new conventions.

Rails has really stepped up their game after Rails 3; really nailing down the API and conventions. Upgrades are much easier now (Moved from Rails 4.2 to Rails 5 in an short afternoon). Just definitely keep up with the minor releases; but th

Oh, I completely agree! I have probably 5 separate TrueCrypt volumes in my Google Drive. That said, that's only maybe 15GB of my storage, and around 80GB is unencrypted. It's all about what level of convenience you're willing

Why wouldn't it? Have an automated email sent ~8-11am in the morning their time, personalize it with their name, ask for their thoughts. They either reply or don't - either way, automation made sure you didn't waste any time.

Simple is beautiful for budgeting. Every month I use their "goals" as budgets (Rent, recurring costs, motorcycle, day-to-day, insurance, etc.) and I set aside all the money I'm going to spend in each category for the month -

TDD, for me, is great at the very start. I get the nice high-level bits done, they're clean, and they get things working perfectly from the start. But then I want to start moving fast, trying new things, I don't know exactly how I
